When people don’t go to the dentist regularly, they typically have a number or excuses they turn to in order to justify it. These excuses have become so ingrained in the way that they think that it is hard for them to even consider whether these excuses are realistic or not. Here are five typical excsues as to why a person does not see a dentist for regular cleanings or checkups, and why each one of them is not realistic:

1. “I Brush My Teeth Regularly”

It is important to brush your teeth twice a day for two minutes at a time. It is also important that you floss your teeth at least once a day, and use a high-quality mouthwash as well. Of course, this doesn’t mean that just because you follow these rules that you don’t have to go to the dentist. Going to the dentist at least once every six months for a check-up is just another important aspect to proper health for your teeth.

2. “I Can’t Find A Dentist That I Can Trust”

With so many dentists in the Dallas area, there is a dentist out there that you can trust, if not a couple of dozen dentists that you will trust. If you are not able to find a Dentist Dallas that you trust you probably aren’t looking.

3. “I Don’t Have Dental Insurance”

If you have dental insurance, use it. If you don’t, look at prices for local dentists. You will find that a regular check-up is typically under $100. You can afford $200 a year to get your teeth properly checked.

4. “I Don’t Feel Any Pain In My Teeth”

Most people think that a cavity is going to hurt. The thing is, by the time a cavity starts to hurt it is a serious matter. A cavity that is just starting is not going to hurt, meaning that if you wait for pain to see your original dentist, you are going to pay a lot more for the service.

5. “I’m Afraid”

Finally, the truth! Of course, being afraid of a Dentist Dallas does not mean that you should not go to see them. Simply taking the time to see them will take away a lot of the fear you feel.
